I have a 15-hour-a-week job, which makes it easy to schedule my dissertation time: I theoretically have until 2:00 every day to work on it, then I head to the office until 5:00. But this July my job is going up to 30 hours a week. Don't get me wrong, I very much welcome the change of status that this move represents (a "professional" instead of "student" career track, a retirement plan, vacation days, feeling like a grownup, etc.), but I will have to figure out a new schedule for dissertating.
Working four days a week with the fifth being "dissertation day" is an option, but everything I've read about writing schedules says that the key is to write every day. So I'm toying with the idea of working at the job from 12 to 6 pm every day, and heading to room 5076 in the morning. That means I will HAVE to get it together and be at 5076 by 9 a.m. to get two solid hours in before taking a lunch break. Currently Mr. Flossie and I are rather late to go to bed and late risers, but that will have to change. I should practice going to bed by 11 p.m.
