Fellowship

This weekend I went to a cookout where I talked to two grad students who are also in the midst of writing their dissertations. I discovered that:

a) Hating the question "What's your dissertation about" is normal.

b) Not knowing how to answer that question, even after passing your prospectus, is normal.
